Rubbermaid Pond?

I have a random question. I would love (and I know my fiance would love) to have a rtc. What if I got a giant rubbermaid tub (like yall have for your rays) and dug a hole outside for them....and put in the tub.

How would heating and filtration work for this if it was feasible?

I'm in Nebraska, so summers are nice and hot , no need for a heater, but it gets pretty cold in the winter (rarely goes below freezing though) ... and of course the snow... hmmm.

Well, anyway, if someone could knock some sense into me that'd be great.

I think that would be hard to heat but someone on here may have a trick.

Could always throw it in the basement too, if putting it outside would be a bad idea. Would just be awesome to have an outdoor pond.

I don't think and RTC is going to handle temps anywhere near your winter temps so heating would be a must. And to maintaining that pond to adequate temp in the winter is going to cost allot. I would just recommend doing an indoor pond.
