Hey my friend just got a small 1" maybe smaller rubber nose pleco and i was wondering whats the max size on these and how long do they live?

In general stay away from plecos that are still under the 2" mark. They are much more difficult to ship, and to raise.

yea i figured id tell him since this one doesnt really get that big (as he thought it would) and he thought it woulda been cool to see it grow up from a uber small sizee so ill tell him to get somthing a little bigger like 3-4"

really anything over 2" is pretty safe. depends on cost.
