I got a ruby red a few months ago he was bright with a super bright face when i got him at 2 1/2" he was kept in a pond. Then after a few days he lost alot of his color Now hes around 3" and starting to color back up but his face is just brownish. Could this be because there alot bigger fish in the tank and hes not the dom male.

it's probably because he is intimidated by your other fish so he is not displaying his colors to their full potential.
