So let's just say I wanted this to work in the ultra long run like way down the road say two years but not after i found out I had two Dovi female's. OK my LFS sold them to me. So I thought the next time i went in I seen this Brown Speckled Little Guy. It was a Dovi that didn't look like mine so it got me thinking. LSS I traded in the lil female Dovi and $15.oo and picked up a Male so I HOPE. But this is the thing as soon as I put him in the tank that the other Dovi was in. The P's tank! He wasn't immediately nipping but he started after i feed them. So the P's STARTED NIPPING AT EACH OTHER and all spread out over the tank. As the Dovi darted at them the were freaking each other out and still flaring the gills at each other. Now wit my FM it's nothing there cool but this male Dovi got them in a frenzy! So this will forever be a dream of mine ! But for sure NO DOVI WITH THE P's IF MALE! Female I will let you know!

Thats actually cute. LIke they wanted to be like the dovii so they started acting like him.

Pretty funny.

yeah man, that would never happen, simply for the fact that dovii are so much more territorial/aggressive than cichla..

Yea that was kind of cute!

When i had the female in they never acted like that. But the female Dovi was never that intense. He just seemed like because they wanted to just hang out and chill that iretiated him and he didn't seem to think that just chillin was what was supposed to be going on. It was funny to watch them display there gills and such. It was actually kind of cool. There colors lit up as well which was also pretty cool. They had been in the tank with the female for two months and never seen this kind of display. I will re intoduce the Male down the road when I put the P's in the 240g. I will let you all know how that goes. I will deafinatly be putting the female in with them down the road. But I am thinking the male may be way to much of a harraser.
