Just curious, is it bad for any certain types of fish if you are running a powerhead 24 hours a day. The reason I ask is, I have a 802 powerhead in my 75 gallon. I have a flowerhorn,parrot,datinoid,6 giant danios and a green spotted puffer in the tank. The puffer seems to sit in the corner where the current is weak and doen't move much until feeding time. When I turn the powerhead off the puffer swims around more. The other fish don't seem to mind but it made me wonder if the current might be too much for them 24/7 and stressing them out at all?
Should I have the powerhead on a timer?

I say leave the powerhead on. Puffers are back- lagoon type fish but most fish like, LIKE, rivereen type environments. Fish adapt... Go eat some turkey and relaxe. Your fish won't die tomorow.

haha thanks. Yeah figured as much but I am bored (can't sleep because of my f-ed up work schedule) and was just curious.

I have always left mine on 24/7.. i'm considering getting a wavemaker/timer for the one that sits right on the surface... just for something different.

I just left them on and arranged rocks or driftwood as current breaks for resting spots for the fish that liked still waters.

what guppy said . but i have a 20gal tank with a 50 gal fluva power head on 24/7 it dont bother me cryfish
