running a wet/dry and canister together

How do you guy run both a canister filter and a wet/dry sump? do you run them seperatley? Or do you connect them or run them together some how?

i run the two i have seperate
in case one fails theres another going
i also clean them at different times
i think theres a pick of them in my post you can find in my signature

it works well

I have one of my tanks that has a wet/dry and a canister.

The W/D is full of bio-media and the canister is good for polishing the water.

Ideal combo if you ask me. And yes, they are run seperatley (sp)
