Wanted to share some pictures of my 1945 Russian M-44, Mosin Nagant and my 1996 Russian AKS-74 clone. The AKS-74 wears a PK-AS-V Russian Military optic that is just wonderful.

Enjoy!

The AK-47s shoot 7.62x39mm and the AK-74s shoot 5.45x39mm.

The M-44 is 7.62x54r, one BEAST of a round!!

Simular to 308win then? i take it you just shoot targets with them etc, what you got for hunting?

The Mosin Nagant (7.62x54R) is the most Similiar to .308 (7.62x51)

7.62x39mm is usually compared to 30-30 and 5.45x39mm is usually compared to 5.56NATO.

I dont target shoot all that much. I practice as often as I can afford too. But practice does not mean just shooting paper from a bench. Its for real world applications such as shooting off hand, mag changes, clearing jams, transitioning from rifle to pistol, shooting from a vehicle, etc etc. hope to bring a camera for the next class I attend, but usually photogaphy is discouraged. ;)

I do plan to use the AKS-74 and my AKM-47 (not pictured here) for deer and hog hunting. I may even take the M-44 out on a hunt.

I dont hunt too much either The primary reason I own guns is for protection.

No, the AK-101 and AK-102 are chambered in 5.56 NATO but they are mainly built for export. Russia still uses the 5.45x39mm round. The 7.62x39mm is making a come back especially in the Spetnatz and other special forces in the AK-103 and AK-104 rifles.

Hello again, hear what you are saying.
If you ever want to ask about any askpect of shooting send me a line. i would be happy to give you any advise.
iv been all over the place:)
Lesson number one, never ever pull that trigger till you are READY and then only if you have a back stop on that target or you mean it. Remember once you pull that triger only one person will ever bring it back and it ant you or me.
wise words
