I worked with them for years in Germany. They´re ok but you forget to refill them occasionally and as constant water quality is the key to good fish keeping I prefer to use something more robust. In Germany we mainly used them in ponds which were iced over in winter. General aquarium use was rare. For those who don´t know what they are, they use hydrogen peroxide with a catalyst contained in a plastic cylinder to produce oxygen which escapes through a hole.

I did do a bit of looking and they seemed like a good idea, on paper.
Just wondered how they actually worked on a running system.
