Here is a shot of the fish in question.

Can you possibly confirm that these are what they are labled as?

Have been getting bent over so to speak lately with buying fish from trusted dealers, that turn out not to be what they should be - so i'm just making sure now.

thanks

Note for the record: i have not done business with this seller before, and i am not accusing him of mislabeling his fish. Just doublechecking as others that i have trusted before have not sold the correct fish i ordered.

HR, it looks identical to the juviniles I am keeping about 2.5"-4" range. The red in the dorsal and the black spot on the top of the caudal peduncle look right. No prominent lines just under the dosal look right as well along with the large lips/broad snout. I think it is a mapiritensis. The F1 juviniles I am keeping are European bred/shipped so odds are good we may be keeping some from the same group/supplier. The facial markings on mine threw me off when I first got them as I was expecting the small tightly grouped muzzle spotting, instead I noticed barring mirroring the one in the piture above. There are so few photo's online available, there is still a chance neither of us could be keeping them but I trust my source.

I have a freind breeding them in Poland, I'll see if I can get some juvinile pics to compare. Mind if I post them in your thread if I can get some?

This is a nice algea covered pic (tank was in front of window) of my group of mapirirtensis along with a few geo tapajos grow outs but it shows juvinile in the foreground, adult in the background so you can see the muzzle spotting I was referrring to on adults.
