I've always wanted to do a Sa biotype, but being in florida I cant keep rays. But I will be moving up to boston in about 8 months, so Decided I should start thinking about stocking.

The tank will be a 240gallon, filtered by 2 37gallon wet/dry filters. and 2 fluidized bed filters ( model 600 ). It will have black sand on the bottom, and 2peices of driftwood in the tank, along with some fake plants to create a nice look.

It will just be a growout untill they get large enough to be in a 360gallon.

So far I'm thinking

pbass
Black arowana
motoros

what are some other fish that would go well with this?

I am pondering the same question - stocking for an SA theme. My tank is not ready yet, but will be 8'x4'x2'. I love cats, so was thinking a Lima or 2, but can't make my mind up about tankmates. Saw some motoros at LFS and got pretty excited about them, so they are a strong consideration for me. The thing for me is that I travel a lot, so the critters I pick have to be easy for my wife to feed and monitor.

i would do an amazon biotope since all those fish you listed would fit

oscar(s), black ghost knife, juruense cat, sailfin pim, marbled pim, maybe tigrinus cat

i wanted to do an amazon biotope, but deviated w/ the bichir and may be adding a jag cichlid

i always wanted to do a SA biotope.
but i love bichirs too much.
try some of the cats.
a group of payara would be cool.
BGK,oscars,pleco?,wolfish,pike cichlids.
