What do you guys think about housing a festae pair, rtm pair, freddy pair, black nasty pair, and maybe a umbee male/ A. Istlanum in a 10*6*2.5 tank? I know it would be hard, and if that wouldn’t be possible do you guys think about having a festae pair, rtm pair, and black nasty pair in a divided tank the same size?

In the same tank all together I would say no, mainly just do to the fact that regardless of the size tank these fish will always be fighting over territory, food, and mating rights. These are all large and extremely aggressive/territorial fish species. I would imagine nothing but chaos in the tank once one or more of the pairs decide it's time to breed.

Yea, that was my assessment. What about having those three pairs divided into equal parts in the same size tank?

Yes, what I would do is take painted plywood dividers and divide them up into about 150g slices, each 4*3*2.5

I have kept all the above, except the umbi, and istlanun.
I would never try them together in the same tank, although a 10" ft tank is large, its not just about tank size.
All the above are loners, not community type cichlids.

That's kind of a waste of a 10' tank to essentially divide it into 3 smaller tanks. I'd say go with a setup that allows you to take full advantage of a tank of that size, truly a unique opportunity. That said guapote Mel has had some success housing many large agressive cichlids in a 600 gal & 1000 gal setup. Check out his YouTube.
