SA Cichlid I.D help needed...

Hey Folks...

I need an I.D on a pair of fish i have just purchased... They were sold to me as Sajica... i didn't get the best look at them at the time of purchase as they were in a fish bag and had just made a trip of nearly 2 hours... I have had them for 2 days now and have hardly coloured up... obviously this is to be expected, but thought some signs of colour should be apparent, as these are nearly full grown adults..

Upon researching a little further, I am now under the impression that these are not said Sajica, but are Spilurus a.k.a Blue Eyes... Shape, colour and eyes seem to fit.. I would like to be close to 100% sure, before I approach the seller....

They aren't sajica ... they are missing the lateral bar to make the T-bar. I don't know the family well enough to tell if they are cutteri or spilurus though. I'd lean towars spilurus though.

Ofcourse... the T-bar is missing.. i totally overlooked that indicating factor... i'm 85% sure they are not Sajica... too many missing elements... eg. fin extensions, T-bar missing, colouring....

yeah, I'd say cutteri too...though there are some that believe that cutteri is just a variant of spilurus.
