Hey friends,
I the place where i live we dont see any eartheater,Geophagus and black-belt
and few other cichlids.:irked:(India).

So i had to stock from these following fishes.
Currently i got 6 severum 1 $ sized.
2 texas
I am planing to add firemouth, green terror.and malwi dolphin.
I dont want aggression thats y i will keep only 1 pair firemouth.
1 green terror.
1 pair blue dolphin
we also get festivum cichlid.
tank size is 4.5 ftx2x2 ft.
Before i was planing to keep severum and frontosa. But fronts are very costly.
and being a student its hard for me to buy currently:cry:. though i love frontosa:grinno:

I dont want oscars cos they are pitbull of aquarium.:WHOA:
no salvini due to aggression.
I also heard that if u keep some small fast moving fishes in the tank.
It minimize the aggression in the tank. If is it so then also tell me what are which i can keep.
Thank you :):D

if you don't want aggression I would stay away from the GT, and maybe even the Texas

I have a texas with my severums (72x18x27) there is some aggression but not too terrible towards the severums. But if I try to add fish my Texas tries to kill it.

It sounds like you have a small list of fish to choose from that aren't very compatible... It may be worth the extra time/energy to travel a bit further to find additional stores to choose from.

Having raised several Oscars as well as many other cichlids, I definitely would not consider them "Pitbulls" but instead would suggest they are "gentle giants". As they first reach sexual maturity they get a little fiesty, but what teenager doesn't? I see the same behavior in most of my Cichlids, Oscars just grow fast enough to usually have the extra weight to show it more.

well about the texas he is cool tempered but sometimes get angry but he is to big to run fast ;),

well said, a lot of the time getting a cichlid that isnt agressive/territoral is a matter of luck, i have male jag now that is the most timered fish ive ever owned and yet others i have had snaped at pubity and tried to kill every thing, same as oscars ive owned. Some fish have bad raps like dovi and in saying that most are agresvie but there are ones that are not the best thing u can do is get all your fish at the same time and around the same size preferable have the faster growing fish the smaller specimens.

oscars are no pitbulls. and gt and texas are mean mofos

I have a 125G with a Greenterror5",flowerhorn3",jag6", and Oscar8". And my Oscar is the only one not showing any aggression :). I think some JD's would be a good choice though.
