Would I be able to keep a 8'' Sabare tooth with a 8'' Jardini/ I was able to do it with silvers w/o any problems. Do you think it will work out?

Hi everyone, I'm totally new to this site so I'm not really sure if I'm even in the right place and everyone seems to know heaps- hopefully someone can share the knowdge in the Asian arowana department.

We have 2 that are quiet large - 1 silver 80cm+ we had for years and 1 gold roughly same size-no idea male or female?!!!! we adopted the absolutly stunning gold one 2 months ago when one of our friends moved overseas and couldnt take it with him, initially we had to put them in together due to space restrictions until we got the tank we needed- they played nice for the first couple of days but started to fight visiously so we seperated them initially in the same tank then totally seperate tanks-
I never was a fish person or any pet person for the fact- but my husband loves his fish and slowly but surely I became passionate also, especially about my arrowana.

So I am beside myself at the moment and so upset because Unfortunetly my Gold one had been beaten pretty bad and just cant seem to recover- first the fins tattered and torn and some scales were redish and a couple had fallen off- I have not seen the gold one eat anything personally but I suspect from the number of gold fish we put in I guess it would've had a few but cant say for sure- The whole tank went off the scales since the 2 arawanas punched up and I've had a couple of fatalities but nothing to really cry about- My biggest concern is my arowana and I have gone through the whole thing of treating it- removed the entire community, scenery, rocks etc--- checked all possible water causes,ph perfect- amonia-perfect, Nitrite a bit high- I added live bacteria and salt incresed Temp to 34c - a little scared to do a water change yet as the fish shop advised not to until I put the whole lot of live bacteria in over a 7 day period- I had the option to put the anti fungal meds but didnt want to treat anything until the water was perect-

I'm really worried, the symptoms are scaryand its painfully to watch it like this - the colour has virtually dissapeared and is very dark , it has cloudy parts on the eyes and finds it hard to see, scales look transparent in some parts like there was blood somewhere and some parts of it look like there were little bits taken off the actual scale- it sometimes sits at the bottom with tail end up, or sometimes down, then goes for a swim and seems to not be able to stop so it bangs its pointy part of the mouth on the glass to stop-

If anyone can share an experience or offer an insight i would greatly appreciate it- I know it sounds weird but I feel like a sick child that I cant help - thanks heaps

i am doing the same thing...
i hope it works out
that would be a killer combo
as for arroqueen your not really supposed to make a post about this
make a thread
sometimes people get mad when you interrupt theyre post/question

Big Arowana Fan - give it a go, you wont know until you try, besides every jardini is different, hopefully you have a little less agressive one.

Arowanaqueen - its best to start a new thread regarding your problem, youll get a far better result..

fwiw, my jar gets along with everything in the tank right now, only problems i've had were with a silver fish (Tat)

I'm going to try this out. I'll see if I can go and get the sabare.Hope it works!! As for Aroqueen, I hope that gold heals quick!
