Hey all, saw a few 3 inch fish labeld as 'Sabertooth Fish' at my LFS.. they were all silver, and thier tail was higher in the water than thier head. Had a upward curving bottom jaw.

So, any one know what i am talking about and has had any experience with them?

When i saw them they fascinated me, wanted to get a couple, but wanted yalls opinions first...

So, how would they do paired with a 6-7 inch Delhezi Bichir? They were 3 inches, but large enough to where the Del couldnt eat them.. My concern is them putting a few holes in my del..

Are they very agressive? Are they very territorial? Are they very messy? Etc Etc..

Any advice you guys have, i welcome it.

I think you saw Hydrolycus scomberoides I would strongly recommend not mixing them with your bichir.

These are known as vampire tetras, sabre-tooth tetras, and as pirarucu. They eat nothing but "live" fish. If you are not prepared to supply such a diet, then you are wasting your money and will end up committing an act of cruelty as they will die on you. They also get extremely large (if properly cared for). Your bichir would be fine for a while, but, as your vampires grew, eventually, your bichir would be in big trouble.
