anybody like to share some good fishing spots in the sac area? once spring rolls around i'm thinking about taking a weekend to go fishing. i'm not picky about what i'm catching, just as long as i don't have to spend 2hrs waiting in between strikes.

Every part of the Sac Delta holds cats. You can use clams and catch some cats and some small Stripers, or you can use crawlers and catch some cats, bass, bluegill, and etc.

ok this is wat u wanna do u wanna use a casting net if u have them or catch small blue gill on a lil hooke and toss live ones and some cut up on a nice size hook and use a slip weight and have a 3 foot leader of some heavier test then cast it out and let it sit try to find deep areas or areas with no current if there is a dam tho fish buy the dam its always good fishing and as u have a pole or two set up for that u put them in rod holders which u can buy for 4 bucks and then take a bass pole and fish for bass while ur catfishing so u multiply ur chances. on the cat poles u can also catch bass walleye even pike if they are live bluegill herring anything and cut bait works for walleye no joke so u can catch a variety of fish on the cat poles it has always produced for me like here wen i caught these both with 10 minutes of eachother no joke the walleye on a live bluegill and the smallmouth on a 4 " watermelon seed sinko which if u use cast let it sink jig jig real the slak then do it again it may take a while to real in but it sure does produce

PS i may only be 16 but i go fishing 6 out of 7 days a week and im working with local fish stores that might sponser me next year for some tournements so dont under estamate me because i am young ifve taught my dad how to fish i learned everything i kno by myself reading watchin fishin shows and researching fish and their habitats trust me it will work for u as long as ur not out in the middle of the day fishing evening is always better for catfishing and bass fishing as iv seen but the morning can produce just the same amount just depends on the day and the weather conditions

i was thinking of tossing out some monster sized shrimp tied above a 1/0 circle hook on a 2 1/2ft 25lb leader(heaviest i've got) and a 1oz egg sinker into the middle of a hole and letting that sit while i fished the shallows lighter tackle. i've tried the sac river a few times and never had much interest, it's just too slow and uncomfortable sitting on a bank in the sun for 2hrs to catch 3 fish, i don't mind when i've got a book and a chair to sit in though as long as it isn't crowded.

dont go fishing in the middle of the day u will increase ur chances if u go around say 5:30 to wenever but 5:30 should be the earliest u start because if u start before that its ussually not good fishing but if its raining or overcast then u can fish all day basically

i was planning to start out at 7am and around 10am pack up and head into the hills to cache creek and camp there for the night.
