I just bought a baby arowana. only about an inch or two. He has a sack hanging on the bottom of him. The LFS told me it was normal. What is it?

its an egg sac
good luck with it but when they still have an egg sac on they are extremely hard to take care of and it may die from the stress of shipping and acclimation to a new tank

I agree, you usually want to avoid an aro with a yolk sac, especially if you have other fish in the tank.

He is still in the bag from the store. Any advice on what i should do?
how much did you pay for him? what size tank is he going in? what will the tankmates be? and what is the availability of larger aros at ur lfs?

keep the temp at 84 degree fahrenheit, with a heater that is.. also make sure u let the bag sit in the tank so it can acclimate to the current temp in the tank. keep it SOLO!!!!

$18. He is going in a 55 gallon community/grow out tank. The are no largers aros at LFS. His current tank mates are a small raphiel, 2 small pictus cats, 3 gouramis
