Just stumbled across pictures of these badass natives called Sacramento Perch. These things are freaking awesome? Has anyone kept them? Pictures? It looks like what would occur if there was a hybrid of a crappie and a shadow bass. Lol

Holy crap those are awesome! Ive never even heard of these before

When a little smaller they remind me of a silver datnoid.
I have caught a few while fishing.
INteresting fish for sure.

Never seen these before! Are they rare?

Here is a smaller one I caught in California. They are the only native sunfish west of the Rocky Mountains, used to common but they don't guard their nests and the invasive sunfish from the east have replaced them, or reduced their numbers over most of their range. They have been stocked outside their range too.
They are a cool looking fish.
