My new Alligator Gar(7'') has been eaten by my Red tail catfish(10'')!This was how it happen.At first he was living with my small jardini. After two or three days,i found out that the small jardini was bullying the alligator gar.So i quickly put him to my Bigger tank where the tank consist of two big aros jardini and silver(biggest) and one 10 inched RTC . I observe for awhile . The bigger jardini was also bullying him even worse than the smaller one.So i quickly went to get my net.Went i get back to the tank . I couldnt find the Gar.I saw the alligator gar head popping out of my RTC's mouth.!LEsson learned!!!~~~

sorry for your loss buddy. but all the fish you mixed with the gator gar were bad news from the start. especially the jardini. hope people learn from your experience.
yeah, sucks that the fish was lost, but a lot of that could have been prevented by reading up on tankmates for gars. RTC and jardinis of disproportionate sizes to the gar are among the worst tankmates for gars. please see the pinned topics on gar tankmates before attempting further combinations.
we all make mistakes, just realize (and hopefully others do too) that many of us have already made the mistakes and reported them so others hopefully don't have to!!!
whoa wait, not to start a fight, but you had to know that wasn't going to work. You could of posted, and had an answer in 5 min. How did you think a 7inch gar would get along with a foot long RTC, let alone a jardini...Lesson learned I guess. An aligator gar takes quite a bit a space, so does an RTC, I'm curious to what size your tank is.
That sucks but on the bright side ur post of what not to do should reinforce why to listen to us.....
dont feel too bad. I have had my gar kill half a shoal of piranha do to a failed divider. we make mistakes due to limited tank space/ over purchasing of loco fish. Get uno mas, pero another aquarium for your gar
