Today I was working and my wife texted me and told me when she woke up this morning and turned the lights on in the 75 gallon tank she found my female lyonsi dead and my male doesn't look so good either I know they were fine all day yesterday and last night so I don't know what the hell happened. This is my fav. Type of cichlid too and I don't know if I wanna even get them again cuz I was trying to see if they would breed. Do you think I should these guys again or something else

If they're your favorite - then go for it. Figure out what happened, fix it& learn from it

Sorry to hear man. Your Lyonsi were looking real good too. If you really like them I see no reason not to try again. Hope you can find out what caused it.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Loosing something your really love will only make you learn why. I would do a complete break down of everything and have them neocropsy to find the reason. Good luck

If they're your favorite I understand your hesitation, you have great memories of the fish and don't want to spoil them. But as they always say, the best thing to do is to get right back on the horse and try it again. They're a fantastic species and they could use all the publicity they can get, a bit under appreciated IMHO.

As said above, figure out what caused it if you can, learn from any mistakes that may have been made, and do your best to improve upon what you've already done right.

Keep your head up!

Thanks guys I am gonna break it down and try again and I know my water levels were good cuz I checked it all out 3 times in the past 2 days so I am gonna try something to figure it out
