2 years ago I had to give my 5 inch JD to a friend who owns my LFS, as i couldn't house it with my other fish. It was sold onto someone else who paired it up, and that was the last I heard.

Fast forward to today, i'm in the LFS and "recognise" a massive JD, further inquiry proved it to be mine, after the owner was giving up the hobby or something. Was so close to buying the JD back as now I'm in a better position to house than 2 years ago, alas I'm currently housing a 1 inch JD and 3 inch convict, so had to come away!

Pictures below, longer than my hand which is 8"

They both look very stressed and washed out/pale. Large healthy JD's should be much darker and colorful (below is an example of a large male I kept for some time).

They were stressed for sure, tank was too small, unsuitable tank mates etc, typical LFS stuff that can only be argued for, short term. Guy had brought in 2 jd's (including one pictured), massive parrot fish, 2 catfish, 2 tiger Oscars, all of which were in a 75.

Bro they same thing happened to my Oscar! Long story short he got beat up in my tank so I gave him to a friend of a friend. Few weeks later saw him in the fish story beat up again! It was a sign so I built my 110 around him and hes living happy! Go get the JD! haha
