i ordered a breeding group of guinacara geayi from a seller in milwaukee.
they were supposed to arrive yesterday at 3pm but due to a snow storm in that area the shipment was delayed and i just got them.

1 DOA (large male) and 2-3 that look like they're gonna go any given minute :(:(:(:(

i have had the worst luck getting fish sent to me... my parrots barely made it last time, and now i have these guys that i've again been looking for a long time arriving in this condition.

i just hope that when i get home later in the evening i see 6 guinacaras swimming around in much better shape...

keep us updated on those two other fish. sorry to hear it man :(

I learned my lesson on ordering live fish around the holiday months. Have not done it since that little fiasco and therefore have not had a problem.
I'm sorry about to hear about those fish though. They're ridiculously hard to find. Hope the rest come around for you. :(

Are they really that hard to find? I don't know SA that well, but my LFS has a bunch of them in, wild I think.

I can vouch for the no shipping around the holidays, I used to work for FedEx, and **** gets CRAZY this time of year.

Best of luck with the remaining 5.

That sucks man. Thats probably one of the worst feelings, is watching your fish die and knowing you can't do anything to help. Hope they all pull around for you man!!! Definately not a fish you'd want to loose either, pretty hard to find...:(.

Holiday shipping sucks, but some times you gotta risk it. Thats why you gotta get that live arrival garuantee!!

Sorry to hear about your fish. Those guys are hard to come by. I've had pretty bad luch lately ordering fish too. I hope the rest come around.

thats for the condolences
the five are still alive as of this morning.
there's a small one that probably was within 2-3 more hours of death but is slowly pulling herself together

guinacaras seem to be a hit or miss really in terms of availability. i know someone who got a wild shipment of stuff, but they came with a mess of parasites on them, so i'd rather not deal with that...

i'll keep you up to date
