Hello all
Sorry to inform everyone that my female dovii has passed on tonight. She was very active and very aggro but she was no match for my male. I woke up this morning to find her on her side, both the female and the male were beaten up. Still not sure if the male will make it but he looks better than the female did. Hope everyone can send good luck my way.

That blows and Im really sorry to hear that. But look on the bright side, now you dont really have to worry about what your gonna put in that tank with them. I hope yer boy pulls through.....

Its always bad to come home and see that your pair was fighting, because they usually get along and when it happens, it happens fast and usually deadly. Hard to imagine avoiding this without always keeping them apart. Hope he pulls through. You can increase the temp a bit and add salt. Might help with the wounds

Damn sorry to hear that bro losing a fish always hits hard for people who really love their fish. i wanted to cry when my FH died. Good luck hope your male survives the ordeal.

Thanks guys. The male seems to be doing some better. He has started to eat and swim around again. His fins seem to have healed fine but he has a nasty gash on his side. I am using melefix to cure this problem. Do you think I should add salt and raise temp as well?

yes to salt, yes to bump in temperature. Good luck man, and sorry for your loss :(
