sad new my end.

My Xthantic Wels has had a tumour in her stomach. Unfortuanlty. Not much I could have done to save her. I tried a few things. But nothing made any difference. On the space of 10 days it’s killed her.

She had become quite large. (Size 10 shoe for scale)

She basically puffed up like a beach ball in the stomach area. Once removed from the pond, it all came out, further look into it, almost like a “fatty” lump. Such a shame, a rare and very personal fish.

Sorry to see this. That was an amazing animal.
This is the bad part about bringing any pet into our lives. We know some day we may loose them.

Sorry for the loss.

My sympathies.

It doesn't look like you had dissected it... Why do you say a tumor? Also, in my naive understanding tumors don't come out unless cut out with a scalpel.

It sounds more like a collection of fluid, fatty liquid, lymphatic liquid, what not, which can occur for many reasons, pathogens not the least of them.

Agreed with others, don’t think it would grow that fast. Maybe swim ladder got backed up.
