On January 1st I awoke to find my bearded dragon had passed away.
Cause of death is unknown. He was happy and healthy not 2 days earlier when I was playing with him.
He was only 3 years old. I purchased him as a normal but he had very nice bright coloration. He was always a healthy eater, never lost his appetite, was always an angry little guy.
Nothing seemed off, temps had been stable aside from 3 weeks ago we were without power for 18hours but the temp in the room never dropped below 70.
The only thing I can think of is a possible impaction or choke. When I found him he was sprawled over his rock with his mouth agape. I do not use bedding in his cage so it wasn't substrate-related issues. Unless he manged to swallow too many crickets at once...
I'll miss Mofo, even if he was an angry evil little bastard.

Sorry to hear.... :(
I really want a reptile too, maybe I'll start the year off with a Beardie or a Tortoise.

So sorry men:( Its like one of thouse cases in wich we do everything rigth and then something turns out bad. Dont fill yourself with gilt probably you dint do anything that caused its demise. Besides your beardy legacy its alive on tens of thousands of healty beardys that share our human homes world wide:D

Sorry to hear about your loss, it was a really good looking BD!

Thats too bad..... It always sucks when you have a pet pass, specially when its unknown or premature.

My condolences. I had a similar situation happen to me with my first beardie. I never found out what happened, and he was 3 as well, so I feel your pain.

sorry for your loss....:(

sorry for the loss i lost my breeding pair of beardeds with in three days of each other they were four years old when the vet looked at them he said that it was from chlorine in the water that had built up in there system and most likly caused kidney failer
