when i was just starting this hobby i had an albi oscar in a ten gallon ( growout... he was only 2" ) the tank had a shelf over it with cups and glasses ( the tank was on our bar ) well one night my mom and i were watching tv when she saw a large roach on top of the shelf. she grabs a can of raid and opens fire. i say "mom dont get it in my tank!" the roach was about 6 feet away from my tank but i was still worried. every thing seemed fine but then.... the roach ( which until now was in its death throws) gets up and begings to run down the lenght of the shelf! it gets to the end ( right above the tank ) and jumps! 
how it landed in the 1" by 3" space that was the feeding hole i dont know... but he wasnt in there long... my O got him before i did. SWALLOWED!
