Alas, I can be Squirrel Squisher no more.
Last Thursday evening I was out doing my normal rollerblading routine on the highway, nothing new. I had just finished my usual three mile route, and was already almost half way back, when out of NO WHERE this Highway Patrol man pulled up behind me, TURNED ON HIS LIGHTS, and 'pulled me over'. As some of you can imagine, I was a little more than slightly amused by this, and had a hard time not laughing. Of all the times that I didn't have my camera with me.... hahaha.
He asked me who I was and what I was doing. I was half tempted to tell him that I had just gotten tired of flying, but my better judgement prevailed much to my astonishment. After talking for a while, he basically told me he didn't want me on the highway rollerblading any more. Said there was this whole liability issue if I was to get creamed by a car. I respect the vehicles on the highway though, and either over if they are coming, and if thats not an option, I get off into the grass. He saw me do this, but I guess it wasn't good enough for him.
So yeah, I guess I'm not allowed to rollerblade on the highway any more. Which really sucks cuz that was one of my main forms of exercise. I am half tempted to challenge it, as bicycles can ride on the highway. Perhaps if I got a bunch of reflective clothing, and had a fair amount of those blinking red lights?
