Hi all,

I was wondering if this was considered safe food for my Channa.

1. Grasshoppers
2. Moths/butterflies
3. Bits of Fresh Fish (Mackerel, salmon, trout, bass)
4. Snow Crab
5. Lobster
6. Clams & Bar Clams.

I'm asking this because i live near the ocean and I'm fishing almost everyday, so i was wondering if all those would be ok for them.

They should accept most types of bugs (insects should make up a good part of gachua's diet in my opinion). I wouldn't feed anything that's wild. Wild sea food has a risk of parasites/disease, wild bugs may have recently eaten fruit or veggies sprayed with pesticides/poisons. Any wild foods that you try, I'd recommend at least quarantining for a while.

I feed mine all sorts of frozen fish most of the time and once and a while a mouse . Mainly smelts or herring and shrimp
