i have a swimming pool, and when you drain some of the water onto the grass the chlorine makes tons of worms come out of the ground. we got some to use for fishing but they died.
so if i did this, took a couple and washed them would it be safe to use for food? or would it be fine as it was right from the ground

i think if you washed them they should be fine but id wait for some more replies

i wouldn't recommend this...

get 2 metal rods pound them into the ground about 5 feet apart cut the end off a electral cord atach one of the wires to each pole wet ground with a water hose plug in cord for about 10 seconds you will have all the worms you can handle ( dont stand in the water of corse )

or you could buy a dozen of worms for $2 at any gas station

i guess i might try it then rinse off the worms and wait a week to see if they live.
btw, some of the ones we kept lived. but about 90% died

nooooo worms intake nutrients through there skin and mouth so they are prolly full of chlorine thats why 90% of them have died

if you are really needing food that bad just go to a bait store or somthing they usually have cheap frozen food that would be ok............dont buy the crap in the smelly refrigerators!! lol

I got a ton of worms off of my driveway during one of the first rains of spring, put them in a tupperware, poked some holes, added some dirt, leaves, and water and put them in the fridge. They were alive last week until I feed them to my fish. Couldn't believe they were still alive.
