So, I am aquascaping a 125 gallon tank for some Geos and came across something while purchasing Manzanita wood. I truthfully am not 100% sure what it is. The description says "Indian White Root" and a picture of it is attached. I have it soaking in some dechlorinated water now because once it came in, I noticed it had a scent, almost minty or something.
The more I think about it, the more I feel like I shouldn't use it, but again I am not 100% sure what it is and thought surely someone here has come across it and can bring some insight into it.

Any ideas?

Picked up the pack of them from here:

I'm not an expert on woods that work for an aquarium, I normally just stick to typical driftwoods that are sold in the lfs but I think if anything is scented they used a chemical on it and it probably soaked into the wood. I would definitely not use it better safe then sorry

Indian white root comes from a plant. It is similar to a turnip or parsnip (hence the smell).

It most likely will decompose quickly in an aquarium. I would not use it.
Yes, the scent was a more natural scent not a chemically scent. I had come across a few articles outlining that it was basically a turnip, but I wanted to double check. Thanks again for all the answers everyone!
