I have 4, 4-5" RBP that like most RBP are very skittish and absolutely freak out when they see a net, i need to transport my set up from college dorm to home this Sunday and wanted to know if their is a technique on netting these i can use that would possibly make them less stressed. Also do you all recommend using tranquilizing / stress releaving chems for transporting fish? the distance is about 45 minutes away.

thanks
Tyler

make sure you take out all decor....lower the water level pretty low......use two nets, one to direct and the other catch.
I have never used any tranquilizing / stress releaving chems.

you can also try to use small container (well will have to be larger than those piranhas of course) to scoop them out together with some tank water in there. this way they won't freak out and splash water all over the places like when you using a net and you don't have to worry about they destroy your net(s). thats how I transport my 6.5" rhom from tank to tank. just use your net to guide the fish into the container and as a cover to prevent them from jumping out after you get them into the container.
