I'd keep them on pellets for a few weeks so they really get used to it. Believe it or not, my friken bahias went back to live, for some reason they stopped the silversides like they forgot it was edible. So I gotta start from scratch again!

My fish love pellets, I feed a handful everyday and then 1x per week supplement of shrimp or talapia. So basically 2 feedings of shrimp and 2 of talapia per month, thats only cuz their sub adults, great color and very active/healthy!

That's exactly the diet I want to follow for them .. I want to alternate shrimp , tilapia , 1 time a week an feed pellets 6 days a week just worried since they just got on pellets if they get a taste of shrimp or something else they might not wanna go back to pellets because it's still new to them

Dude if you got them on pellets, work them on it for a while lol but you can start testing with new foods by throwing a little bit in with the pellets that way they associate it as food.

I wouldn't do it personally. IMO you already won the battle, why bother. You can try different prepared foods if you want to vary their diet. Good Luck!

Keep feeding them thet pellets for a while and only occasionally supplement them with frozen foods. Pellets have the most variety of ingredients in them already, plus they are alot easier to feed. I have 2 monos which will eat anything, one kelberi which only eats pellets, an azul and brokopondo which only eat frozen silversides and then a tiny temensis and two small orinos from rapps which eat beef heart and blood worms. What a pain in the neck it is to get all the different foods ready for them to eat.

Good job on the pellet training bro!!

IMO and if I were you I'd keep them on strictly pellets for now. Maybe think about offering other types of food for a "mixed diet" down the road and a few weeks after you return from your trip bro.
