My Pinchy is getting way to "comfortable" with everyone and I want to clip his thumbs off to protect my investment. Whats the best way to go about this?

I have done other types with a toenail clipper but they were food not keepers so they didn't last long enough to see if they would get infections.
Dude, no prejudgement envolved, but thats a little gross, and a little cruel. if hes a nasty guy,just put him in solitary confiment. thats like.. i dont know whats that like.. but man, just seperate him from the others. sorry, i know this was a bit of an off topic quote, but thats just how I feel on the matter.

I am not a huge fan of altering animals to suit our needs better. You chose the lobster, you chose the other inhabitants of the tank, you made a committment. Don't have him pay for it. Provide separate habitats or eat him, but don't dismember him.

lobsters are pretty good at growing back lost parts, if you do clip his thumbs, if it doesn't get infected and kill him they will probably grow back anyway. Doesn't he use his claws (thumbs included) to feed himself? Besides I couldn't imagine a happy existence having to look at the person who cut off my thumbs every day.
If a crayfish has it's thumbs removed they grow back during the next molt, The large claws are not used in feeding except to capture or kill larger prey. As I said before though, I have only done this with crays that were not expected to live, I started doing it with feeder crays after a relatively small one killed a larger bullhead by getting hold of it's gills.
