I got a pair of Sailfin Mollies for my community tank. I have got salt I am using 1 tbsp per every 5 UK gals(22ltr) . Is this enough for them? Will they breed easily? Anyone keep them? What size do they get to? Are they atall agressive? All info basically :grinyes:

Thanks,

Me

They're pretty hardy and easy keeping fish. Do you have any other fish in there with them? The salt will affect the others as well. IMO, Mollies have been farm bred for so long that they're basically freshwater now. I had some a long time ago that I kept in freshwater. They bred like crazy and lived for a good while too.

they'll be fine. mollies are one of the few fish that will thrive in fresh, brackish or even full marine conditions.

Thanks.

They seem to be around 3''-4'' what size will they get to?

it think thats it. the biggest sailfin mollies ive seen where just shy of 4".

Thanks.

Do I need more to increase the chances of breeding? Thanks.

read an article in tfh this morning. salt is not required. plus your other fish ARENT brackish...

Aj, I can't get TFH over here...And plus it is only one tbsp per 22 gallons.
