Hello all...
thanks in advance for your answers.

My 10 inch sailfin tang has what i think is "BLACK ICK after reaserching the issue i have desided to try HYPOSALANITY because iam afraid to medicate the tank because of the banded bamboo catshark ..yes i can set up a qt for the tang but if i dont kill every thing of the pest life cycle in the tank i have no way of setting up a qt for the catshark so i have choosen to do the whole display tank..

current inhabitants include
full marine
sailfin tang
banded catshark

brackish converted to full marine
scatt
columbian sharks(3)
sailfin mollies (aprox 10)
live rock(can be removed if needed)

If it is the right way to go i would like to do hyposalinty for 5 weeks
if it would not be harmfull to the tang or catshark as iam sure it wont be an issue for the brckis fish converted to full marine

total system water voulme is 225g..current salanity is 1.022..how much salt water would i need to remove and replace with fresh non salted water to bring the salanity down to aprox 1.010 to 1.013..and would i need to remove my live rock or not

Try lowering the salinity.

Fish is doing great..set up a isolation tank..lowered the salinity..ich is gone from fish..still in iso tank for atleast 2 weeks though just to make sure...none of the other display tank inhabitants apear to be affected...but watching closley been in iso since about 4 feb 08..target remval from iso tank is 5 mar 08
