sajica breeding ??

hey guys just got an order of sajica from Jeff Rapps had 2 males and 3 females (lost one male ) any way i am wanting to get a pair and was wondering if any body here has had them and if i needed any thing special. they are in a 125 with a red head sev and 3 juvy blue acara their are several rock caves and hiding spots.

yeah i keep them. they are much like a convict, except for the aggression levels. they will pair up fairly easy, and claim a cave or corner to make a nest. mine like to breed in a hole dug under some wood, but i dunno. males generally will get a hump on his head, and males are generally red/fined and such. you'll like them they are a nice species to observe.

thanks for the info... i ordered adults they are about 3 -3.5 inches is this breedig size ?? and yes the male does have red fins and the females have a really pretty yellow color in their fins

They still have a few inches to go to be adult size. Their breeding color will be fantastic when they are ready.

You should have asked! I have acess to fry, a buddy here has had many broods! Easy as Cons!!!

I agree i got a pair and they spawn regularly in a 75gal sa/ca tank i have not culled any fry due to the community tank setup they get eatin up but i got a 29 gal they are going to go in soon and i will grow out some of those i think they have great color mine are 3"male 2"female.
