Wait until free swimming and then pull the babies. My sajica pair guards until week two of free swimming. Then they eat all the fry. Had this happen twice now. Will pull the fry next time.

The eating of fries can be caused by many factors, some parents get it right first time round and are the best parents ever from the getgo, others take a few tries. Usually one has a choice, either pull the fries regardless - this can lead to the parents never learning ever, to properly take care of fries and they will have to do it every time they want to save a batch, or the other choice, to leave the fries there, eventually result in the parents getting it right eventually and becoming good parents well pretty much from then on, though they may have to suffer through batches after batches of failed results.
A middle ground is to pull out some (half) and leave the rest.
