Hello everyone

I've set up and cycled a new 200L (55gal) tank. At the moment it has lots of caves and driftwood.
Current Inhabitants are 6 Corydoras sterbai and 6 Brochis splendens. Both groups are doing well and eating heartily.

I really want a pair of ciclids, The LFS I use here in London, Great Portland Street Aquatic Design Centre are amazing.
They have ordered in some wild type / red severums (1.5-2inch arrive on Friday 25th) from which I plan to take a group and try to get a pair.

Problem is, I noticed some small 2-3 inch Sajicas in there. They are beautiful.
I'm now considering Sajicas for the tank instead of the Severums.

What I want is a beautiful pair that won't outgrow the tank, that will exhibit some beautiful breeding colours and importantly, will respond well to the great diet I have planned for them.

I need help deciding which pair to go for.
Help me out!

I'm not a big fan of Severums, so i'm going to say the Sajica's. I really like them and have considered getting a few myself.

Go with Severums. They have better coloring IMO. And Sajica's kinda remind me of Convict cichlids.. Ugly little buggers lol.

Defiantly go sajica. They will fit the tank better and look stunning. Easy to breed too. They probably form better pair bonds too.

I'd definitely go with the sajica. Always wanted a pair, and for your situation, I think they'd be a better fit in that size tank with those inhabitants.

I love severums but a 55 is going to be a bit small, especially if it's heavily decorated with caves and driftwood. That basically shrinks the actual living space for the fish to something less than 55 gallons.

Go with the sajica.
