i would guess 40 to 50 they are not all n the pic.
and yes the parents are MUCH darker than they were with the eggs. i am not sure if this is typical. i think most change to breeding color with eggs as well but these guys did not untill the fry were free swiming.
That's their spawning color's mine somtimes turn dark when laying eggs then lighten up when the fry are free swimming but barly's seem to do the oppisite but they look good in their spawning dress no matter when they decide to turn on the colors.
barley pop iam jelous i want mine to breed i ahve 4 in 1 tank i think either 1male and 3females or 2m and 2 females. will the spawn with other cichlids in there like blue acara and firemouths. and what did you feed them to get them up for it and what temp.
yes they finally 1 pair emerged from the 2 m and 2 f, i noticed when the stop whinding other fish off and got close together. also finally my krib bred in the same tank but got eat by some1???... but this all triggered by getting big earthworms where i got from my fishing shop as bait and choped the but finely, i know not very nice but it worked. make such its choped finely like 1/2cm because i lost my convict because of it and now all the shops around have ran out of them exept a beat up 1.
no they havnt yet laid eggs but their following each other around but when they dont the female and male go in the same cave at seporate times, i dout they will for quite abit now that ick has entered both tanks but none have been killed in the tank with sajicas in but a huge death toll in the other 3 clown loaches, 3 Thorichthys ellioti fry only 1 left and 1 geothagus.
