SAL growth rate

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From 3” to 17” in about less than 1 year. They aren’t ask thick as African lungs at the same length. Constant eaters, constant poopers who have the habit of breaking their poop up before you can get it out of the tank. When eating they inhale their food and can accidentally suck in tankmates. Sometimes damage is done to the tankmate accidentally because they are going after food

Thank you for the reply, does your sal play well with your bichirs? and what size tank do you keep yours in?

If the bichirs aren’t near the food as it’s eating they will be fine. If the bichir is eating towards the SAL, the SAL could suck it in and crush its skull, happened to my senegal. Or it could suck in a tail and rip off a piece, happened to my retropinnis

they were in a 55g growout until I rehomed the SAL. It was smaller than the bichirs who started out larger than it but quickly outgrew them.
