Is it a salamander or a newt? If it is a brightly colored newt, I would imagine most fish or other predators would leave it alone due to its warning colors. It may also be secreting a toxin into the water as a defensive mechanism - that may be why it is still alive.cornbread_5;1981774; said:I put one in my 55 gal and it still alive do fish know if some creatures are posionous
