Hello, I was just watching River Monsters with Jeremy Wade. I was curious if they sell these Golden Dorados here in Cali? Are Dorados illegal or legal to buy here?
You've got a similar chance of finding Salminus brasiliensis in America as you do to winning the lottery. There's only been four confirmed specimens ever brought in.
On the other hand, Salminus franciscanus is farmed in Brazil and can be bought for about $80. They pop up for sale in Cali fairly regularly. If you don't know how to tell the difference, you'd never know the difference between a Frankie and a Brassy.
I'd move this to Other Characins but I haven't quite figured out how to on the new system yet. lol.
