I had suspicions that my current Dorado was something else since Greenerinks mentioned it looks a lot like his and (a plus point) behaved exactly like DB Junkie's.
As Moe put it in another thread, the confirmed way is to do a scale count between the dorsal insert point to LL; I finally shook off my lazy bones, took some pics and did the counting.
Based on these two pics of different sides:
Dorsal and LL framed in green line. Red line marked five scale counts until 15. Plus 2; total of 17 scale/dot counts.
It's a confirmed Brassie.
Not starting this thread to show I had a "rare" species but more to share the general traits and behaviour of Salminus Brasiliensis - as not too many are featured in this forum.
Will try to update more on this guy in the future.
