Purchased from Rare Fish a few months ago...he can verify that.

Now approximately 8" and very active...sorry, but I can't get it to stop moving enough to get a clear picture.

Eating raw shrimp.

Meet up in SoCal within the San Gabriel Valley area or will drop off to your shipper in SoCal if you make your own shipping arrangements....don't have the time right now to ship for you myself.

Only 3 or 4 of these were brought in so get this while you can.

Price is $475

Cost should be out the window, irrelevant. Like he said, there's only ever been 4.

This is a Salminus Brasiliensis. NOT a Franky like 99.9% of the Dorado in the trade. The real deal. Argentinian big headed Dorado.

These are a VERY rare, very special fish.

There's a Dorado sticky in the other characins forum that might be worth a read to understand exactly what this thing is.

Correct.

Maxillosus is a junior synonym for S. brasiliensis. Either way, there's only ever been four of these brought into the hobby. The rest are Salminus franciscanus.

No matter what price EFG is asking for this thing, it's a good price. Just go try to find another one somewhere else! You won't be able to!

GLWS man. If I had a spare $500 laying around, I'd be on this like stink on you-know-what! lol

Its a cool fish, no doubt about that, just asking out of interest.

Couldnt hurt to bump up his thread.
