What is the difference between Salminus brasiliensis and Salminus maxillosus ???

Maybe info needs to be gathered up and a write up be written for ALL "Dorado" species including Brycons..... :confused:

:popcorn::popcorn:

People changing names to confuse people.... :confused:

Same fish.... :ROFL:

But did find some others, although I have no idea how rare they are, salminus hilarii (Salminus cuvieri) and salminus affinis that grow a lot smaller.

:nilly:

i heard they come from different places is the reason for different name.

seperately I have seen 3 different color combos and semi adult dorados.

silver body, red tail
golden body, golden tail
in between of the two above

Not sure if they are in fact from different collection source or are indeed scientifically different.

Here's a pretty good article. I didn't get through the whole thing but lots of info in there.
