Hi I've had a salmontail catfish for a few months now. He's about 30cm long. He used to have a friend that was bigger then him but when they moved in some syndontis cats were really bugging him and the bigger one got a columnaris infection and died.
The smaller one has been doing well he spends most of his time sitting on the substrate though but does swim at night. His tank mates are 2 gold spot plecos and a school of silver dollars and a gold Severum.
He is also extremely flighty. If anyone approaches the tank too fast or from behind him he gets quite freaked out and sometimes has even knocked into the glass.
He feeds on hikari massivore at nighttime
I was wondering if getting another salmontail catfish would help him to get a bit more active and to not be a skiddish anymore. On also his species is arius graeffei the australian salmontail that spend their whole lives in freshwater.
I was also wondering if a snakehead gudgeon would be compatible with him or maybe even a bichir.
