Salt and Africans

It is often suggested that you put some salt in with the 3 african lake tanks. Salt isn't needed but when treating a fish salt is again used.

There are plenty of reading materials on this issue that can explain it tons better than I could ever, so I will refer some to you:
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/aquarium_salts.php
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/buffer_recipe.php
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/treatment_tips.php

There are a ton more articles out there, but I picked just the first that seemed to be on topic. Hope this helps with your question.

I use salt in all my african tanks (fronts, Tropheus, Paretroplus, Polypterus, Heterotis, etc.) However, i use rift lake salt which has a calcium chloride base as opposed to sea salt/table salt that has a sodium chloride base.

I was gonna say why do you think the fish are stressed then I saw how many you got in there:WHOA:
