hey guys i have a 125g with a silver arrow and hes got ick i rasied the temp to 86 now i was going to add salt but im not sure how my plecos will do ? do i need to take the plecos out?

you may aswell do the whole tank. plecos should be fine. ive used heavy doses when i had ich and none of my plecs died

thanks davo:)

you plecos will be fine. When i had ich my plecos didnt even flintch at the salt

It's the brineing that fish don't like. When the salt disolves you can see waves in the water. Those waves are what you call brine. as in "Brine Shrimp" yes. This fluctuation of ionic atoms breaks down the gills and can hurt the fish. Predilute 25teaspoones of salt in a gallon of hot water. Do a water change fill the tank back up and while putting the water in mix the salt water. This will make it go in evenly.
