It has been a while since ive dosed salt. i have a small jaguar cichlid that has some sort of injury/fungus around his mouth. ive noticed its getting worse and his smimming seems less stable and he often just rests motionless on the floor/rock. i took him out and put him in a 40gallon grow out tank with just a small peacock bass and silver arowana. i want to put some salt in but dont remember the correct dosage per gallon. i remember i used to do it 1/3 full dosage for three days and leave it for a week or two with raised temp. is it a tablespoon/10 gals? seems like it should be more than that. any help is appreciated.

1 tablespoon for 10 gallons is a normal half dose

1 table spoon per every 5 is a normal full dose
It varies depending on how much most hobbyists want to go for but that's usually the dosage recommended. For tanks less than 5g, I go for a teaspoon per gallon. Be sure to dissolve the salt thoroughly and add slowly.

All fungal cases are bacterial infections. If it goes worse, combine Maracyn and Maracyn 2 as your alternative. If you want to treat with salt or meds, please do it in another tank, not with your peacock bass and arowana.

why do you say not with the pbass and arowana? simply to avoid building their tolerance?

No. Because treating your other fish with no health issues at all is pointless and dangerous.
