i know this is posted but i cannot find it. how much aquarium salt should be used in brackish.green spotted puffers, green scat and archer fish in particular.

1.010 on a hydrometer specific gravity. I use a 32 gallon trash can, fill it to the top of the handle molds at 30 gallons and add 4 cups of Instant Ocean but just use your hydrometer and check after 2 cups then add as needed to acheive 1.010.

:iagree:
i would do half (or slightly less than) the recommended the salt written on it IO bag/box. that should get your salinity to about 1.009 - 1.012. that's about where it should be for brackish tanks.

????
that's like what i said, about a quater cup a gallon.

Agreed, although IMO, 1.008 would suffice.

I know, I realized that after I read it twice. At first I thought you were saying to use half of what I suggest. Sorry about the confusion.

i dont have one. i work at an LFS and thats what we sell. i never knew what to tell the costomers. i've been told to double amount on API aquarium salt. 2 TBS per Gal
